Professor Lucy Taksa

Professor Lucy Taksa, PhD is currently Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Business and Economics at Macquarie University after 5 years as Head of the Department of Marketing and Management.
​
Prior to that she worked at the University of NSW where she taught Masters Courses on Men & Women in Organisations, Managing Equity, Diversity and Disability and a range of management courses, Head of the School of Organisation and Management, Director of the Industrial Relations Research Centre and Associate Dean (Education).
​
She has published on management, employment relations; gendered workplace cultures; Occupational Health and Safety; multiculturalism and migrant employment; identity issues; EEO, Diversity Management, women’s employment and leadership and the management of cultural heritage.
​
She was a member of the NSW Administrative Decisions Tribunal Equity Division (1996-2007) and its Legal Services Division (2003-2007) and Chair of the NSW State Records Board (2007-2012). She has been an Independent Board Member of Settlement Services International Ltd. since 2015.

Current research projects include: ‘Affinities in Multicultural Australia’ (Australian Research Council funded) and ‘Historical Patterns of Schooling, Religion, and Socio-demographics of Australia’s Population’, with the Catholic Education Commission. She has presented invited addresses on diversity at Paris-Dauphine University in France (2014, 2015, 2016) and at Rutgers University's Centre for Workforce Development in the USA (2015).
