Dan Caprar
2016 Keynote Speaker

Dan Caprar is currently a Senior Lecturer at UNSW Business School, and he will soon be joining the Discipline of International Business at the University of Sydney Business School. His main interests revolve around understanding how individuals are shaped by the context in which they work, and how, in turn, they influence their context. As such, his research, teaching, and consulting work are focused on culture, identity, and leadership.
Dan’s research work, largely driven by his professional and personal experiences, led to publications in top tier journals (such as the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Business Ethics, Academy of Management Learning and Education, etc.) and received recognition from both the international academic community (being nominated for the Academy of Management HR Division Scholarly Achievement Award in 2011), and within the UNSW Business School (he received the Non Professorial Research Achievement Award in 2016). He has also received several awards for work presented at international conferences or as a reviewer, and has been invited to serve in multiple editorial roles.
He currently is an Editorial Board member for the Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of World Business, and Cross-Cultural and Strategic Management, and a Regional Associate Editor for the International Journal of Cross-Cultural Management.
In addition to his interest in advancing knowledge, Dan is equally committed to facilitating the use of research findings in practice. Building on several years of teaching experience, at UNSW Dan designed and taught courses related to cross-cultural competency and leadership development across several programs (i.e., Undergraduate, Master of Commerce, MBA program in Hong Kong, and EMBA program in Sydney).
In addition, he engaged extensively with the AGSM Executive Education programs, where he contributed to open courses and in-house projects for a range of Australian and international organisations. He was a Program Director for the flagship program called AGSM Platinum, targeted to C-suite executives, and for a program specially developed for the recipients of the Future Leaders Scholarship provided by the Westpac Bicentennial Foundation.
Dan engages in customised learning programs and coaching sessions in Australia and abroad, with particular interest in opportunities that allow for related research projects and co-learning.
